Lake Most na Soči
On this stretch the water is calm and without rapids, making it ideal for beginners, families, and anyone who wants relaxed SUP.
Calm, shallow water is ideal for children and first strokes.
Start: At Bar Morea.
Where: To the confluence of the most beautiful rivers.
Why there: The water is very shallow and calm here, perfect for splashing around and for the youngest paddlers.
Duration: It takes about 30 minutes of relaxed paddling to reach the first larger gravel bank or bay.
The most beautiful sunset reflects on the emerald surface of the lake.
Start: At Bar Morea.
Where: Paddle to the middle of the lake, where the Soča riverbed widens.
Experience: Sunset is most beautiful here, because the sky colors mirror on the emerald surface.
Hidden corners, cliffs, caves, and crystal-clear water for jumps and exploration.
Start: At Bar Morea.
Where: Head into the narrow Idrijca canyon.
What you'll see: Cliffs up to 15 meters high, unspoiled nature, and exceptionally clear turquoise water.
No current
On the stretch from Most na Soči toward Modrej and in the Idrijca canyon, the water stays calm.
Calm surface
The water is smooth as a mirror, which is ideal for relaxed paddling.
Safety
The area of Tolmin and Most na Soči is suitable for beginners and families.
The Soča is very cold even in Tolmin (12–15 °C), so we recommend using a safety leash and a life jacket, especially for children.
In Tolmin, you can park near the confluence of the Tolminka and Soča rivers (Dijaška ulica 18), walk 2 minutes to the confluence, and paddle toward the lake at Most na Soči (approx. 30 min), or drive to Most na Soči (5 min) and park by Bar Morea, where you enter the water below the bar.
